The Archibald Project | Ethiopia Countdown

Well friends we are t-minus 5 days away from the big trip! I just wanted to give a quick update. First and foremost THANK YOU all for reading/giving/praying we have been so blessed by you all.

I fly out on the 23rd and will be looking at a 30 hour travel day. I just found out one of my teammates will be flying out with me from SFO and we will be meeting up with the rest of the team in NY! Whitney and Nick, from The Archibald Project, are already in Addis with the Selamta Family Project getting ready for our arrival. This is quickly becoming a reality!! People have been asking me how I feel or if I’m ready. I am pretty much filled with every emotion, but have an undeniable peace about the whole trip. God has made it so abundantly clear this is where I am supposed to be.

I cannot tell you how many times I have cried in the last few months at the generosity of others. From being fully funded within a matter of weeks, to care packages, surprise hotel stays, lunch and dinner dates, texts, calls, comments. It blows me away that this adventure has already touched so many and I haven’t even gone yet.

I will try to update here as much as possible throughout the trip. We will have access to Wifi, but may have periods without electricity. I will mainly be rockin’ the Insta Stories @kimigphotography along with @thearchibaldproject and fellow teammates. You can follow me via this link instagram.com/kimigphotography.

Some have asked me how they can continue to help. Prayer! Please pray with us for safety, peace, health, comfort and for my heart while I’m away from my family to love on others. Steven Lee will be holding down the fort at home with our mommas and I’m so comforted by that. I married up you guys. To have a man that lovingly forces pushes me to follow the Lord and His path for me is inspiring. To have a man say “You have no decision to make in this process. Just keep walking.” blows my mind. We have come quite some way in 12 years Mr. Wilson!

Thank you again for following along and I’d love to hear from you throughout my trip!! It’ll help me not feel SO FAR away from home.

Here are some film scans of my first batch sent to The Find Lab. Some of the rolls were 7 years old! There is just something so raw and nostalgic about shooting film. I’m tempted to bring along my 35mm camera for my own creative heart. What do you think?!
