Forever Family // Samuel

Today is a GREAT day! We get to celebrate with the Lee family as they officially add their newest addition!! I had met Jen and Adam as part of a bridal party for a wedding I captured this spring. She later contacted me regarding family photos for their adoption finalization. When we do Forever Family sessions each family has a choice of: day of (in court) photos to capture the event as it unfolds OR an hour family session. Each just as special. A time to sit back and recognize a NEW family unit.

It amazes me how God works. I feel silly for saying that, but honestly. He ALWAYS has a greater plan for us if we just get out of the way. Taking the time to stop making plans and creating life for ourselves. We are here for Him. I encourage you to use the gifts He has given you to love on someone else. You’ll be baffled by the outcome. Guaranteed.

Jen was sweet enough to share a little piece of their story:

“For as long as I can remember I have always loved the idea of adoption and thought it might be something I would consider someday. After giving birth to my daughter, which was something I had always hoped to experience, I decided that I did not need to give birth to any of our future children. There are so many children without parents that are just waiting for someone to bring them home. Once we made the decision as a family of 3 to grow our family through foster adoption, we jumped in headfirst and completed all of our requirements within a few months. Just a month later we were blessed with a 3 month old boy named Samuel. Until we experienced having Samuel in our family I viewed adoption as something exciting and very difficult and sacrificial that God had called us to do and that we were simply choosing to obey. Now that this process has come full circle I am finally realizing that God was simply giving us a precious gift by adding another person to our family for the simple purpose of bringing us endless amounts of joy!

Samuel Jacob Lee has been a part of our family for over 8 months now and he is the sweetest and most easy going little guy I have ever met. I am so grateful to have been chosen to be his mom. He is the missing puzzle piece to our family and we could not imagine life without him. We are so thankful to Kim for showing Christ’s love through giving her time and talents to capture this exciting time in our lives. -Jen”
